This two day event for researchers will focus on the developing the capacity of staff to undertake effective research with children and young people. Participants may opt to attend both days, or either Day 1 OR Day 2.
The aim of the course is to introduce research students and early career researchers to key issues involving research with children.
Day 1 will be introductory and will cover: approaches to research with children and young people, research ethics with children and young people and child protection in research environments.
Day 2 will introduce a range of research methods commonly used for research with children. These are likely to include up to 4 of the following: participatory approaches, creative methods for interviews, secondary data analysis of large datasets, surveys and observation.
