Social Network Analysis

Overview
The aim of this session is to introduce the widely used and powerful methodological tools of Social Network Analysis. The session will also introduce the software package UCINET, which is available for hands-on data analysis. This workshop should be of interest to staff from a range of academic disciplines as SNA is a cross-cutting methodological tool and is increasingly being applied in social sciences.
This session will cover:
1. The importance of SNA
2. Basic philosophy and principles of SNA
3. Operational details of SNA methodology
4. Simple analysis of network data using UCINET
