Research Development Forum

As part of our capacity building strategy, WISERD is running an adaptation of the Methods and Research in the Social Sciences (MARSS) forum which runs regularly in Bangor University. The MARSS forum is chaired by Dr Catherine Robinson (Director, Centre for Applied Research and Evaluation Sciences (CARES), School of Social Science) and provides a researcher focused and supportive environment for discussion of research ideas and the development of research grant applications.

The meetings are informal but outcome focused.  Some meetings will focus on specific calls for proposals whilst others will be more speculative.  Researchers can have a short slot to discuss an idea or a longer slot to present a draft proposal.  The meetings take place in a range of venues across the WISERD partnership.

So whether you are just embarking on your first research grant application, have a few ideas you want to bounce around, or have a wealth of research experience, you can benefit from and contribute to this capacity building initiative.

If you want a slot at a MARSS forum meeting them please send as much of the following information as you can to wiserd.events@cardiff.ac.uk about a week before the meeting date.

1. Working Title
2. Paragraph outlining you idea or draft proposal
3. Target funder
