WISERD Publication Series’

WISERD is committed to producing high quality publications for a range of academic, policy and practitioner audiences. In addition to regularly submitting articles to international, peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to externally published and edited collections, WISERD also publishes papers and reports in the following formats.

Research Reports

Reporting on primary research, policy analysis or secondary analysis.  These reports are primarily used to publish research findings or work in advanced progress. They may include versions of reports of sponsors. These are primarily web-based publications; also available in paper format on request.

Policy Briefings

These are short papers, designed to provide accessible briefings on key policy areas, particularly but not exclusively with a Wales focus.

Methods Briefings

These are short and accessible papers reporting on advances in research methods, methodological development and innovation. These are published in e and paper formats.

Data Resources

Tools, technical resources, manuals and other publications designed to advance the generation, management and access to social science data. These are primarily web-based publications.

WISERD Working Papers

Preliminary papers released to share emergent ideas, data, analyses and argument. They may be a precursor to submitting a revised version to an academic journal. Where subsequent versions of working papers are externally published, these are acknowledged and the appropriate link provided.

Qualitative Researcher

Dn interdisciplinary forum for sharing qualitative research applications and innovations; ISSN 1748-7315. This is currently edited by the WISERD@cardiff team, and was formerly edited by Qualiti, the Cardiff Node of the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods.

Editorial arrangements: all WISERD in-house publications are managed by the WISERD hub office at Cardiff. There are editorial teams responsible for each kind of publication, and a supportive system of critical reading / peer review prior to publication.
