WISERD Reference Groups
WISERD reference groups bring together groups of experts in a particular substantive field – to develop knowledge and understanding of the field and act as a reference group for the WISERD programme of work, leading and driving work in key areas.
How the Reference Groups Engage with WISERD
WISERD has developed reference groups in the following broad substantive areas;
- Health, Wellbeing and Social Care
- Education and Young People
- Language, Citizenship & Identity
- Employment, Skills & Training
- Economic Development & Regeneration
- Crime, Public Space & Policing
- Housing
- Transport
- Environment, Tourism & Leisure
These groups act as an important reference group for the WISERD localities research programme, helping to shape and inform the thematic audits taking place within and across the case study localities. These themed scoping audits are being used to map continuities and changes, to develop comparable data across WISERD localities and identify key inequalities.
The reference groups also provide a forum of the development of inter-institutional and interdisciplinary working and research development, for ensuring WISERD policy engagement and for broadening the WISERD research base.
