Infrastructural Activities
WISERD’s infrastructural programme is focused on the development of a series of resources and programmes which aim to increase social science research capacity within Wales, as well as facilitating access to and use of, data on Wales.
WISERD’s infrastructural activities fall into three broad areas:
Training and capacity building, with a strong emphasis on quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods: WISERD has made a major investment in research-capacity building activities. A total of 22 workshops and training weekends were organised for academic and policy-maker participants during 2010 with a further 28 seminars, lectures and collaborative events. The development of a robust system of knowledge exchange and transfer, facilitated by WISERD’s close relationships with the Welsh Government and other government organisations, such as the Office for National Statistics, as well as organisations in civil society, for further information please click here. WISERD’s knowledge exchange and transfer programme also includes work undertaken within the WISERD thematic reference groups.
