In this event Dr Jon Anderson will explore the relations between human geography and literature. He will introduce how pages and places can be understood relationally, focusing on the active role that literature plays in constructing our understandings of place, and how the page becomes the location through which the agency of the reader, author, imaginative space and material location creates new relational cartographies.
The ONS’s Measuring National Well-being programme and developments by the Welsh Government are exemplars in going ‘beyond GDP’. However, measuring things differently is not enough: new measures will have to be used in government, business and everyday life.
